ABOUT PAUL REINIG

Paul grew up in the 60s where all his formal education was at Catholic schools in Lincoln, Nebraska. When he graduated from high school in 1971, he felt quite lost and lacked self-esteem. Eventually this caused him to, in February 1975, join the Unification Church, founded by Sun Myung Moon, where he spent the next 23 years lecturing, fundraising, witnessing and traveling. During these years he grew to an extent, becoming aware of certain talents he has as a speaker and musician.

In 1991 he graduated from Regents College in Albany, New York with a BS in General Science. He immediately entered the Unification Theological Seminary in Barrytown, New York and graduated in 1993 with a Masters Degree in Religious Education. He then attended the University of Nebraska where he earned the equivalent of a BA in Broadcast journalism in 1996, followed by a short stint as a TV Reporter in southern Oklahoma.

From the turn of the century until recently, Paul went through a lot of soul searching and came to the realization that it is an illusion that he is separate from God and others (see his article on The Multiplying of Source) This inner search has shown him how to truly love himself.

Primarily, he learned that loving himself meant to accept everything about himself, bar none. He realized that all his life he had been pushing away any unwanted emotions that were being triggered by all his beliefs. Unfortunately, pushing them away always had the effect of giving them energy, causing his emotions to inevitably return, for that which we resist, persists. Rather than pushing them away, he began honoring them, allowing them to be expressed. This had the effect of allowing them to come to a natural resolution. The insights he has gained through this process have the potential to help anyone who sincerely desires to develop a relationship with Source and themselves.

In the summer of 2003, Paul received through journaling a map of sorts of four things he's always been passionate about. Recently he added three more. The following are his Seven Words:

The Written Word. His first book, A Grand And Glorious Adventure: The Saboteur Years, was only the tip of the iceberg concerning the story of his life. In addition to this book, he has several more books in the works, one that is finished (Apostle Paul: The Untold Story) and has been sent to publishers, and one that is more than half way done (Handbook to Inner Peace: The Melding of the Divine with the Human). Along with his strong commitment to fall in love with the Source within him has always been a desire to share what he's learned with the world.

The Spoken Word. Paul received a clear glimpse into his speaking potential for the first time in 1976. He had just been hand-picked by Moon to be a State Leader in Louisiana and had the opportunity to speak to over 200 students at a Southern Baptist Seminary about Moon’s teachings. Since 1976, he's had an enormous amount of opportunities to speak. While involved in the Unification Church, he had three particular experiences that stand out in his memory above the rest. The first occurred in the mid 80s when he was giving a slide presentation on Moon’s version of anti-communism to about 75 Christian ministers. The second occurred while attending the Unification Theological Seminary. He won a Divine Principle lecture contest while competing with some of the finest lecturers the church had [Divine Principle is what Moon called his teachings]. The third occurred after graduating from Seminary. Moon sent the entire class to Russia. While there, he presented a curriculum for educators to an audience of over 100 Russian teachers in Ufa, Bashkeria, through a translator. What these three experiences all had in common was the high he felt while speaking, clearly telling him that speaking is indeed a passion of his.

The Music Word. Paul bought an acoustic guitar when he was 18 years old and never stopped learning. In October 1999, he bought his first electric guitar. He has a desire to create music that has the potential to empower individuals to be who they are just by listening to it. He doesn’t know what The Music Word will eventually sound like, but it is very much a passion of his to play and record music, and he knows this will manifest at the appropriate hour.

The Media Word. Paul's first aspirations towards journalism actually began as a child when he created a small 1-2 page newsletter called The Coal Miner. He has no memory as to the contents, but remembers enjoying making it using colored pens and cutting letters out of magazine ads as a creative way to spell out the title. He took it to school where they were passed around the room for other kids to look at.

Paul also created his own fictitious sports teams for baseball, basketball, and football when he was a kid. He made up complete leagues with standings and even listed rosters, including uniform numbers for every team. Later while attending seminary, he hosted Coffee House Talks, where he interviewed church elders in front of a studio audience. As stated above, Paul also attended the University of Nebraska where he earned the equivalent of a BA in Broadcast journalism in 1996, followed by a short stint as a TV Reporter in southern Oklahoma.

Furthermore, for many years he's had a desire to create an international news network that would focus on reporting the news of the world from an entirely fresh and new perspective: how we create our own reality. He would include not only what today’s media considers news, but also the activities of people around the world who are providing education geared towards the awareness of Source, as found within oneself. Now that’s what he calls news! The old energy media of reporting about what we don’t want, instilling fear into the hearts of viewers, no longer serves us. Like The Music Word, this inspiration remains a vision and he knows it will manifest at the appropriate hour.

The Dance Word. During the mid 80s, Paul began studying a Unification Church martial arts style, Tongil Moo Do, and went on to earn a second degree black belt. While attending seminary he taught this style to his fellow classmates in a dojang they had set up in the building. Something they used to do when giving public demonstrations of this style was called a dance kata. Two or three students would perform a kata to music. It reminded him of a crude form of dance because they did kicking, punching, and throwing in this style of martial art. Only later did he realize how much he loved to dance. He now has a vision of offering dance as a means to allow oneself to be fully expressed, as well as to find balance, and for exercise. He's already created a web site for this, www.NewEnergyDanceExpression.com, and intends to hold seminars in the near future.

The Travel Word. Paul visited several countries and traveled all over the U.S. while working for Moon, but because he was so emotionally distraught at times, he fees as though he didn’t really experience life as much as he lived it while stuck in his head. For this reason, he has a strong desire to travel the world to experience the many diverse cultures that make up the divine human family. he’d love to go down the roads less traveled, away from the tourist spots, into the heart of a country to find out how people live.

The Intimate Word. As much as Paul has been choosing to fall in love with his own divine Self, he also wants to share this newfound love he's discovering with another. Of course, such a person will manifest when he no longer needs to look outside himself ever again for my his own gain. Beyond this, Paul desires to share his love with the world through the many ways in which he chooses to creatively express.
